The Club Program & its Role
The “club program” a player and their parents select is critically important for that players overall development.
NO Two Volleyball programs are alike! However, they can be categorized based on certain criteria such as:
Constant motion through ball vs. stable hold and freeze; 3 step vs. 4 step hitting approaches; first step vs. second step tempo’s for hitters; right-left-right to ball for setters vs. right-left plant or left-right plant; contact point for setters ball low in front of head vs. ball high above head; swing blocking vs. shuttle/shuffle blocking; shoulder roll, barrel roll, extension dive-role, bear crawl, chest dive, sprawling and run through to name a few defense moves; bow and arrow vs. high five and stop the hand at contact vs. swing through for serving.
We at the IMVBTA have researched and study each program that our players compete for. We freely work with and encourage communication with the coaches of the individual at their request to act as a facilitator of their teachings and philosophies.
We pride ourselves as being a NON COMPETE Program and firmly reject or discourage any negative conversation with regards to the coaches, teachings or the programs the players compete for!
We aim to “enhance” the overall skill level and performance of the player.
One of the most important roles of the club program is to provide assistance to the players and parents in seeking out and securing a collegiate scholarship.
Due to the vast number of players and programs this endeavor can become quite overwhelming. Timing is everything!
This is where the IMVBTA can help bridge the gap.
*It is really important to research and chose the program that best fits the player’s personality and desire levels.
The InMotionVolleyballTrainingAcademy:
We pride ourselves as being a NON COMPETE Program and firmly reject or discourage any negative conversation with regards to the coaches or the programs the players compete for! We attempt at all costs to enhance the programs’ own teaching style and philosophy.
We Do Our HOMEWORK: We have a team that researches and studies each program that our players compete for to develop a working knowledge of their particular training philosophy. We work with and communicate with the coaches of the individual, at their request, to act as a facilitator of the program they play for.
IMVBTA OBJECTIVE:To be great teachers/Instructors of this game and help in the facilitation of reaching each and every player’s highest level of potential. Give each child out there as equal an opportunity to achieve the level of success he or she is capable of
IMVBTA KEYS TO SUCCESS:Treat everyone as important as the next. Do our best at every moment to improve the areas of the player’s goals. Always stay positive! Respect others authority and opinions.
Because we are a non-threatening program, a player will often open up and share things with us that they may be reluctant to with their coach or parent.
Mind you, we are not in the business of “what makes you feel good”, but rather a get to it and resolve the issue program. We do at times tell players and parents what they don’t want to hear. Sometimes a good dose of wake-up reality is just what a person needs and the programs are not always in a position to offer it up.
The Parent(s) or guardian(s) play the most important role in the player’s life regardless of their level
of understanding in this sport!
The Parent knows their child better than anyone else.
At IMVBTA we often develop a very close, long term relationship with the parent(s) assisting them by any means possible at reaching common goals set forth
We welcome Parent input and involvement while many programs dismiss and exclude Parents concerns or requests.
The Parent is raising their child with their morals and values and cultural principles which lays the foundation for molding their future character.
It is eminently important to determine what this is and align our teachings and goals with this consideration in mind.
The Parent(s) seek clear communication as to the ability and skill levels of their child.
We are fair, balanced and most importantly, “HONEST”, even if it hurts. It does not do anyone justice to continue to perpetuate a false sense of reality to a player.
Let’s not also forget that the Parent(s) are making a huge financial commitment towards the development of their child’s future. They should be afforded a certain amount of input as to the direction their son or daughters training should go. Everyone will agree that we want to get the” best bang for our buck”.
We at the IMVBTA are not bound by any one philosophy, teaching style, set of rules or structured program that can limit a player’s development. We are free and flexible enough to experiment and tailor our training to the individual, making use of all the necessary tools available to reach the set goals.
More often than not, the Parent see’s the player’s sport as an investment into an academic future. Be it through scholarship or as an avenue in assisting entry into a competitive collegiate program
We listen to your needs and expectations. We support the direction you are pointing your child in and offer advice when requested
Many Parent(s) come to me with the same ongoing problem: “I really don’t understand how this game works. It is very complicated. “
At the IMVBTA we attempt to walk the Parent(s) through much of the training process with the player. After all, they are typically present at every session or event.
Parents and players often bring conflicts they have with a program or coach seeking assistance on how to resolve or approach them.
We frequently act as agents or mediators working on the behest of the school and club programs to clarify situations, sort through conflicts and offer accomplished volleyball advice to diffuse problems.
